Dear friends of the Macedonian Human Resources Association!
We decided to organize our most renowned annual event, the 11th International HR Conference on 20 May 2019, the date of the first International HR Day celebration across Europe. Hosting our event at this day, we join the efforts of putting the spotlight on the corporate and the public sector executives and on the whole business community to recognize the contribution the HR profession makes for the sustainability of the business and to underline the importance of people management in a wider context. We are one of the 12 national associations in Europe that actively take part in this celebration organized under the auspices of the European Association for People Management (EAPM).
According to Lucas van Wees, EAPM President and HR Director with the University of Amsterdam, “This is an important time for HR professionals to make sure companies are attracting and developing people and skills to prepare for the future of work. According to the World Economic Forum, the shift in the division of labour between humans and machines could result in a displacement of 75 million jobs, while 133 million new roles may emerge.
The vast majority of employers expect that, by 2022, the skills required to perform most jobs will have shifted significantly. As a result no less than 54% of all employees will require significant re- and upskilling, a key challenge for HR.”
These volatile times of global political, constant economic, sensitive societal and rapid technological changes, which affect the peoples’ lives, require transformation. In the efforts towards happiness and wellbeing of the 21st century workforce on one side, and the continuous demand for higher quality, productivity, effectiveness and efficiency on the other, the HR professionals play crucial role for three reasons:
1. they understand the needs of the business and speak the language of leaders and executives,
2. they recognize the demand of the customers for improved products and services and
3. they sense the needs of the workforce and know how to sustainably adjust the current and the future workplace with the aim to enable higher achievements.
In the process of transformation, the authentic leadership and the right competences, behaviors and attitudes are decisive in reaching higher levels of organization and a more developed state of our modern society.
Trying to foresee the upcoming trends in the business, to model the professional response and to shape the required skillset of the HR professionals in our country and the broader region, our board members and the conference committee voted for the topic “HR – The Catalyst of Transformation”, thus challenging more than a dozen of professionals, academics, practitioners and consultants to present their knowledge and share their experiences and visions with our highly skilled and demanding audience.
This conference will offer you a possibility to enjoy the rich program in the pleasant atmosphere of the newly opened DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton in Skopje, to network and exchange your experiences with more than 300 participants, to meet our distinguished speakers, sponsors and supporters and to get informed by more than 20 HR-services providers and exhibitors at our traditional HR-Expo.
Our evening event is reserved for awards. We will announce our first corporate members, our recognized activists and again the HR Manager of the Year for 2018. We will also offer you a chance to establish new relationships, to strengthen the ties among us in our community in a more relaxed atmosphere and to party.
